Walpack receives the WorldStar Packaging Award 2026!
Bischof+Klein received the WorldStar Packaging Award 2026 for the Walpack in the category “Packaging Materials and Components.” The award recognizes this innovative packaging solution as a future-oriented alternative for industrial packaging.
The Walpack was developed with the aim of providing a packaging solution designed for recycling and suitable for use in a circular economy. It uses a mono-material laminate. Actual recyclability depends on the specific version and on the collection, sorting and recycling infrastructure available for it.
Depending on the version, the Walpack is available with recycled content.

Bischof+Klein is once again a “WorldStar” in the international packaging industry.
The plastic coffee film received the WorldStar Packaging Award 2025. The award-winning mono-material laminate is recyclable in the specific version described and, in accordance with the German minimum standard, is free from nitrocellulose (NC) and carbon-black inks.
The WorldStar Packaging Award goes to Bischof+Klein twice in 2024:
The 3-litre Mono-PE stand-up pouch and the PowFlex® vs valve sack received an award in the “Packaging Materials and Components” category.
The 3-litre Mono-PE stand-up pouch achieves 98% recyclability according to the CHI standard. This figure refers to the version described. The conventional PET/OPA/PE laminate was replaced by a three-layer PE laminate. The material requirement is around 33% of that of an HDPE canister of comparable volume.
The PowFlex® vs is a valve sack made of polyethylene (PE) with ventilation performance comparable to that of a paper sack. Its two-layer structure with a perforated inner layer ensures high air permeability. The closed outer layer protects the contents from external influences and extends their shelf life – regardless of whether food, construction or chemical products are packaged.
Pack The Future Award for the U-Pack® ffs
The U-Pack® ffs received the Pack The Future Award in the “Design for Consumer Benefit/Convenience” category. It combines the proven standard FFS film with the U-Pack® and brings together the benefits of a Form-Fill-and-Seal solution with user-friendly features such as a carrying handle and resealable closure.
Optionally, the U-Pack® ffs can be manufactured for non-food applications with up to 45% PCR content. A recyclability rate of up to 98% was determined for an assessed version. Colours and adhesives are not taken into account in this assessment.
Award for the U-Pack®
The U-Pack® side-gusset bag received the renowned WorldStar Packaging Award 2023 in the “Packaging Materials and Components” category. An assessed version achieves up to 98% recyclability according to the CHI standard. The side-gusset bag can optionally be manufactured with up to 45% PCR content. These figures refer to the specific version described.
Pack The Future Award for TacFlex® 900
The TacFlex® 900 series surface protection film received the Pack The Future Award in the “Design for Product Protection” category. TacFlex® 900 is adhesive-free and achieves adhesion values that were previously only possible with adhesive-coated films. A special formulation in the adhesive layer expands the range of applications for adhesive-free films and enables high adhesion.
