Logo Gold Winner

Walpack receives the WorldStar Packaging Award 2026!

Walpack has won the WorldStar Packaging Award 2026 in the “Packaging Materials and Components” category. The innovative packaging solution was recognized as a sustainable and forward-looking alternative in the field of industrial packaging.

The aim of the development was to integrate Walpack fully into the circular economy. This has been consistently implemented with the use of monomaterial laminate. In addition, Walpack is already available with a 35% recycled content, thus meeting tomorrow's requirements today.

Bischof+Klein is a winner of the Best Managed Companies Award 2025!

We are delighted to have received the prestigious Best Managed Companies Award, which recognizes outstanding medium-sized companies for their strategic foresight, innovative strength, and sustainable corporate management.

The award confirms our claim to not only be a technological leader, but also to act in a forward-looking manner in terms of entrepreneurship. With a clear strategy, sustainable innovation, and a strong team, we are actively shaping the transformation of the packaging industry—economically successful and ecologically responsible.

Bischof+Klein is once again a “WorldStar” in the international packaging industry.

This time, we are receiving the prestigious award for our recyclable plastic film for coffee. The WorldStar Packaging Award 2025 recognizes the environmentally friendly mono-composite in the “Packaging Materials and Components” category as innovative and groundbreaking.

All recyclable laminates enable 100% recyclate yield and are free of nitrocellulose (NC) and carbon black pigments in accordance with German minimum standards.

The WorldStar Packaging Award goes to Bischof+Klein twice in 2024:

The mono-PE 3-liter recyclable stand-up pouch and the PowFlex® vs valve bag were honored in the “Packaging Materials and Components” category.

The mono-PE 3-liter recyclable stand-up pouch is 98 percent recyclable according to the CHI standard. The usual PET/OPA/PE laminate has been replaced by a three-layer PE laminate. Requiring only around 33 percent of the material needed for an HDPE canister of the same volume, this pouch is a sustainable alternative.

PowFlex® vs is the first polyethylene (PE) valve bag with the same ventilation performance as a paper bag. The clever two-layer structure with a perforated inner layer ensures high air permeability. With its closed outer layer, it significantly extends the shelf life of the contents, regardless of whether food, construction or chemical products are being packaged.

Pack The Future Award for the U-Pack® ffs

The U-Pack® ffs received the Pack The Future Award in the category "Design for Consumer Benefit/Convenience". The U-Pack® ffs is a combination of the well-known standard ffs film and the U-Pack®. It combines the advantages of a form, fill and seal solution with user-friendly elements such as a carrying handle or reclosure. The product has a recyclability of up to 98% and can be produced for non-food applications with up to 45% PCR content. Only colours and adhesive are deducted in the recyclability rating.

Award for the U-Pack® recyclable

The U-Pack® recyclable gusseted bag has won the prestigious WorldStar Packaging Award 2023 in the category "Packaging Materials and Components". The packaging is up to 98 percent recyclable according to CHI standards and can be manufactured with up to 45 percent PCR content. This results in a potential recyclate yield of 100 percent for the packaging, making it fully integrable into the circular economy.

Pack The Future Award for TacFlex® 900

Another Pack The Future Award in the category "Design for product protection", was given to the innovative surface protection film TacFlex® 900 series. TacFlex® 900 is adhesive-free and achieves adhesion values that were previously only possible with adhesive-coated films. A special formulation in the adhesive layer thus significantly expands the range of applications for adhesive-free films and enables our customers to switch to a fully recyclable, resource-saving and climate-friendly solution with high adhesive strength - optionally also available with 30 % recycled content.
