We want to launch a new packaging concept onto the market together with NEWTEC BAG, a manufacturer of palletizers, and packaging machine manufacturer AVENTUS. The aim of this cooperation is to access new markets for our U-Pack® and the implementation of the packaging concepts on the pet food market by AVENTUS and NEWTEC BAG. 
AVENTUS was founded in 2018 as a joint venture by world market leaders HAVER & BOECKER and WINDMÖLLER & HÖLSCHER. As a subsidiary of AVENTUS, NEWTEC BAG is responsible for the agricultural, construction materials, minerals, and chemicals segments.

 
With this cooperation, the three partners are providing one another with mutual access to the markets. To accomplish this, we are supplying innovative FFS packaging in the form of our U-Pack® ffs product development, which won a Pack the Future Award in 2023. 

The U-Pack® ffs combines the advantages of converted packaging with those of an FFS film. It can be equipped with convenience applications such as a front zipper and/or a carrying handle, and offers perfect presentation at the point of sale in addition to its functionality.

Up to 2,000 U-Pack® ffs sacks per hour can be filled at high speed on the AVENTUS Topas SF machine. This is a performance increase of up to 50 percent compared to customary market concepts in the pet food segment. In addition, 15 percent less material is used for the same packaged product volume, which not only leads to cost savings, but also reduces CO2 emissions. After filling, the sacks are sorted and palletized on the NEWTEC BAG line. Transport costs can additionally be lowered by up to 50 percent thanks to optimized pallet transport.

Investments have already been undertaken in corresponding technology to continue the idea of the U-Pack® ffs. A line with which two carrying handles and a resealable closure can be integrated into the U-Pack® ffs reel is set to be installed in Konzell in July 2024.
