Bischof+Klein has won no fewer than two coveted World Star Packaging Awards 2024: Both the “Full PE Pouch 3 Liter Recyclable” and the “PowFlex® vs” valve sack won an award in the “Packaging Materials and Components” category.

The “Full PE Pouch 3 Liter Recyclable“ is 98 percent recyclable according to the CHI standard. A three-ply PE laminate was developed for this. Minimal deductions arose due to printing inks and lamination adhesives. Requiring only 33 percent of the material needed for an HDPE canister of the same volume, this pouch represents a sustainable alternative.

Bischof+Klein is intending to further reduce the laminate thickness and therefore material consumption. The use of post-consumer recyclate is planned for non-food sectors. A PCR content of up to 30 percent is already possible in stand up pouches of up to 1.5 liters.

The PowFlex® vs is the first valve bag made of polyethylene (PE) with the same ventilation performance as a paper bag. The clever two-layer design with perforated inner layer ensures high air permeability and significantly extends the products’ shelf life with its closed outer layer, no matter whether food, construction, or chemical products are involved.

PowFlex® vs therefore makes an important contribution to resource efficiency. At the same time, the PE packaging solution is outstandingly recyclable. PowFlex® vs is also available with 30 percent recyclate.
