Green Star Award for PowFlex® vs

We have reason to celebrate again. We’re won another award – the Green Packaging Star Award for our PowFlex® vs! The aim of the Award is to put the spotlight on environmentally-friendly packaging and recycling in the DACH region (Germany, Austria, Switzerland). This is exactly what our PowFlex® vs stands for.

After the award ceremony in Vienna, product manager Patrick Börger stated: “I am delighted that the complexity and the benefits of PowFlex® vs have been acknowledged with this Award. With this product, we have succeeded in achieving sustainable product protection in the industrial filling of powdered, sensitive products.”

Johannes Bergmair (World Packaging Organisation, WPO) and Harald Peter Eckert of Austria’s Kompack magazine presented the award during a specialist congress in Vienna. Johannes Bergmair was thrilled by Bischof+Klein’s innovative solution, which he believes represents a perfect combination of recyclability and product protection.

The PowFlex® vs is a completely recyclable PE valve sack for filling powdered products. It offers significantly better protection against the effects of weather than a valve sack made of paper. Another important argument for our customers is that they can fill our PE valve sack on their existing lines. No further investments are therefore required when switching from paper to plastic.

Thanks to state-of-the-art ventilation systems, ventilation during and after filling functions equally as well as with paper sacks. After the filling process, the ventilation system closes automatically. We manufacture PowFlex® vs from 100 percent PE. The valve sack is therefore completely recyclable and optionally available with recyclate content.

The Green Star Award is the prerequisite for applying for the international World Star Packaging Award. That’s the next step for Bischof+Klein.
