Pioneering spirit right up to the present

We have been producing flexible plastic packaging since 1963. That is now more than 60 years. We look back on the beginnings.

Bischof+Klein can look back with pride at 60 years of success and experience in the production and processing of plastic films and packaging. We offer a unique range of production options and an unparalleled level of know how concerning raw materials and processing methods.

The first blown film extruder was put into operation in July 1963. This marked the start of plastic processing and one of the most dynamic phases of growth in the company’s history. Bischof+Klein caused quite a sensation at the specialist international trade fair “Interpack 1963” with its new plastic sacks and carrier bags.

Bischof+Klein came up time and again with new industrial applications for plastic packaging throughout the subsequent years. In 1967, Bischof+Klein won the German Packaging Award with its newly developed glued cross bottom valve sack.

Bischof+Klein Konzell also began to systematically establish plastic processing. Following the commissioning of the extrusion facility in October 1969, the product portfolio was extended by flat sacks, cross bottom valve sacks, shrink films, and films for automatic filling machines.

1978 saw the construction of a new production facility on Hullmanns Damm in Lengerich. State-of-the-art extrusion lamination, adhesive lamination, and coating lines established the prerequisites for two innovative product segments: technical films/surface protection films and consumer packaging manufactured from plastic. Bischof+Klein remains a leading manufacturer of surface protection films for the furniture industry and vacuum packaging for the coffee industry right up to the present.

Bischof+Klein is currently focusing on the development and production of resource-efficient and recyclable packaging and films. Once again, Bischof+Klein is assuming a pioneering role and generating a great deal of attention. In the year marking the anniversary of its plastic processing alone, Bischof+Klein won four internationally recognized awards for its environmentally-friendly innovations.
