Bischof+Klein is taking part in the nationwide “#Zusammenland – Diversity makes us strong” initiative. CSO Erik Edelmann: “A strong commitment to diversity is firmly anchored in Bischof+Klein’s culture. We appreciate diversity. It makes us strong and is part of our success story.” People from over 22 nations work at Bischof+Klein. “They all enjoy respect and appreciation.”

Over 500 companies, trusts, and associations have joined in the campaign, which was initiated by the publishers of the “Zeit” and “Süddeutsche Zeitung” newspapers and other media. They are therefore taking a taking a stance against right-wing extremism and declaring their commitment to freedom, diversity, and a welcoming culture.

The initiators want to show that “Open-mindedness, respect, and community are values that not only make Germany a country worth living in, but also an economically strong one. This is why we are standing together for an open country that courageously confronts difficulties.” CEO Dr. Tobias Lührig adds “This campaign is an important and correct signal from the world of business to all of our society’s actors. This broad participation and strong commitment to freedom are particularly necessary right now and will hopefully lead to broad social discourse.”

Since the mid-1960s, Bischof+Klein’s success has been based in part on the labor of people who came to Germany from other countries. At that time, the family-owned company was experiencing a boom in its new industrial packaging made from plastic and was able to recruit new employees in Turkey, for instance. “We can proudly state that many of the descendants of these employees are now working for us in the third generation. They are a crucial part of our success story,” says Erik Edelmann.
